GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES:

 

The last meeting was held on July 10 Th at the Riverside Marina. The August meeting will be held on August 14 th at Terry Chrevrolet (our new Chevy sponsor) located at 7500 Alexandria Pike in Alexandria, Kentucky. The phone number is (859) 635-6400.  To celebrate our new relationaship, we’re having a pizza dinner around 6:30. For those on the South Beach Diet, the meeting will begin as usual at 7:30 PM.

 

Doug and Jessie Schwegman’s were away on vacation (BTW, how does a retired guy take a vacation???) Anyway in Doug’s absence Jack Buecker opened the July meeting and took a moment to acknowledge everyone’s appreciation for Jessie and Doug’s hospitality in hosting our hungry hoard for a wonderful 4th of July breakfast beautifully served on their lawn.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported that we now have 87 paid members and a balance of $4,500 in the treasury.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Since Jay was too busy unsuccessfully trolling for a low mileage, pristine condition Black / Black ’04 ZO6, she failed to deliver a newsletter in July! Therefore the assembled masses had the rare pleasure of actually receiving a secretary’s report. Don’t get use to it.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Jack Buecker updated us on the Woods Hudson Car Show which will be held at The Hofbrau House in Newport on August 18th and once again reminded everyone to mark their calendars in order to be available to volunteer as workers. At this time, all trophies are sold, but we REALLY need door prizes and items for the silent auction. You can bring items to the next car show meeting (July 24th at the Hofbrau House at 7:30 PM), or call Jack and he’ll coordinate their pick up.

 

July 28th Outdoor Drive In night at the Starlight Drive In located on SR 125 in Amelia, Ohio

August 11 … Kentucky Speedway Indy Race ($25 a head) and Kurt Meier’s cook out before. Contact Jack Buecker for tickets.

August 18 … Annual car Show - Chaired by Jack Buecker (Rain date 8/19)

September 12 (rain date 9/19)  … Campbell Lodge Boy’s Home Run - Stan and Rita Bond chairing. Meet at the Road House at 5:30 PM.  A MINIMUM of 30 Corvette’s are needed. Contact Stan if you’re coming. One final note… bring the old car magazines and a finger food desert. Any spouse willing to help with the food, please contact Jay Deerwester or Rita Bond.

 

DENTED HUBCAP AWARD: Since the demented dinger has gone seriously missing for the last several months, we didn’t accept any nominees. If we ever find that august award, we’ll return to the practice of abusing those unfortunates who manage to make public Corvette spectacles of themselves!

 

SPLIT-THE-POT:  No drawing was held because Jon forgot the tickets!
