GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES:

The August meeting was held on August 8 at the RoadHouse. Ditto the next meeting that will be held on September 12th. As usual, you’re invited to come for dinner beginning anytime after 6:00!

Doug was MIA so Kurt chaired the meeting in his stead by welcoming guests Larry Morgan who drives a Lemans Blue 2006 ZO6 ... This despite being “Cavalier Yellow” Gary Benke’s guest. Kurt also introduced Larry and Judy Walters who own a Corvette twosome consisting of 2000 and a 2006 Lemans Blue (pattern here?) convertible.

Attending the August meeting were: Jon Hanas, Jim Bischoff, Gary Benke, Jay Deerwester, Gene Cochran, Gary Dirr, Charles Griffin, Jim Mason, Mike Studder, Bill Zembodt, Susie Turner, Steve Waldenmeyer, Jack and Susan Buecker, and Kurt Meier, Stan Bond, Wayne Alexander, John Trull, Bob Wiltse, Rhett Baird, Doug (he has risen as he predicted) Hillman, Nic Lucarelli, Dave Leachman, Valerie Jones and Jack Hoerlein.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Kurt thanked Mike and Mary Jo Studer for the wonderful pool party they hosted. Then the meeting was devoted to last minute details associated with the car show.

TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported that the club has a total of ninety-two paid members and has a balance of $4,300.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Ditto the pattern of the past year. Read it and weep.

NEW BUSINESS  No new business was discussed.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

Kurt covered the upcoming event calendar to include:

9/13 Campbell Boy’s Home Corvette Run / Picnic.

Organized by Stan and Rita Bond (we need ~30 cars. Rain date 9/20) Meet at the RoadHouse at 5:30 PM … Don’t forget to save those car magazines! And we need lots of desserts for the after run picnic at the Fort. Any questions call Rita and Stan at (859) 525-6479.

9/30 Toys for Tots at Florence Freedom ballpark. Organized by Tom Keene.

DENTED HUBCAP AWARD: Nick Lucarelli made an eloquent acceptance speech associated with his highly irresponsible speeding violation while enroute to Niagara on the Lake, Canada while in the company of the usual suspects. Nic feebly attempted to deflect his culpability in the matter by implying that his speeding violation was somehow the fault of Rick Deerwester who as everyone in the club knows is a careful and courteous driver who would never accelerate abruptly, change lanes rapidly or otherwise lead Nic into any nefarious activity. When asked about his part in the matter Rick said only, "I have two things to say about that. I didn’t do it and I’ll never do it again!”

SPLIT-THE-POT:  Judy Walters drew her own ticket and then donated the $50 pot to Woods Hudson.
