Doug opened the meeting with some comments concerning Dave Noran’s 2006 ZO6, which Dave was good enough to bring and allow various members to drool over. After the assembled group finished salivating the meeting began at 7:50 sharp.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug welcomed Dr. Julia Carter and Georgia Kinman and her husband Gary. Dr. Carter and Ms. Kinman provided an interesting presentation on the work at Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, including information on some the latest work being done on Prostate research and Breast Cancer there.
TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported that the club enjoys a balance of $4,342 and a total of 89 paid members.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: We’re not even going there.
NEW BUSINESS Kurt mentioned that to assure that club members will be able to receive the 10% courtesy discount that Tom generously offers all club members, a roster of active members will be provided to the parts department. (No other information will be included)

9/13 Campbell Boy’s Home Corvette Run / Picnic. Organized by Stan and Rita Bond (we need 24 cars Rain date 9/20) ….Don’t forget to save those car magazines!
9/30 Toys for Tots at Florence Freedom ballpark. Organized by Tom Keene
After this review, Kurt brought us up to date on the Car Show and this year’s goal to increase the show’s contribution to $6,000. Among the prizes to be silent auctioned at the show will be a week at Kurt and Caroline’s Key West home and Jack and Susan Buecker’s Hilton Head retreat.
Jack Buecker also asked that we each bring a door prize for the car show to next month’s meeting. Finally, Kurt also asked if anyone receives a small local newspaper, to send him a copy so that he can arrange to advertise the show in those journals. Last, we still have a number of trophy sponsorships available (you can check the web page to see which they are). Please call Jon Hanas if you‘re able to place one.
SPLIT-THE-POT: Georgia Kinman who donated it back to Wood Hudson won the $50 pot.
