In the absence of President Doug Schwegman Jon Hanas called the May meeting to order by not welcoming any new members – because there weren’t any!

Attending the May meeting were: Jon Hanas, Pat Bischoff, Gary Benke, Bill Hengstebeck,  Jay Deerwester, Dean Cochran, Gary Dirr, Robert Fincken, Eddie Fincken, Jim Spaeth, Rod Russell, Greg Lloyd, Gary Roberts, Loretta Riley, Jim Hackmann, Charles Griffin and Dave Leachman.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Jon mentioned that in the event that you are able to acquire a trophy sponsor, that you should call an officer to find out which categories are available. As we all agreed, greater emphasis will be placed on selling trophy sponsorships to businesses rather than the increasing past practice of club members doing so privately. By the time Doug arrived, we had pretty well wrapped things up and Doug spoke only briefly to the issue of making sure that in future events we all try to do a better job of RSVP’ing our intentions. He noted that the Founder’s day event had more food than people due to some no call no shows.  Nuff said.

TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported that the club enjoys a balance of $4,200. He added that this healthy state of affairs was true despite a great crowd attending the Keeneland Day where we had the normal mix of minor losers and one big winner! Jon also reported that we now have a paid membership of 88.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Same old, same old…C’mon … read the Newsletter.
