GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES:

The April meeting was held at The Roadhouse. The May meeting will also be held at there at 7:30 on May 9th but remember you’re always welcome to join the usual dinner group from 6:00 on!

 

President Doug Schwegman called the April meeting to order by welcoming prospective new member Bill Zembrodt who drives “Gary” yellow 2006 Convertible. Obviously Bill doesn’t yet realize that having that hue Corvette puts him in the diststinctive company of both Gary Benke and Richard Rolfes who also drive “Cavalier” yellow Corvettes.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:


PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug announced that Gene Cochran had volunteered to chair the Wood Hudson Annual Car show and also announced the remainder of the chairpersons rounding out the list of suckers…. Err adult supervision for the annual August tradition.  The next meeting of the assembled multitude will take place at 7:22 (exactly per Doug) on April 25th at the Roadhouse.


TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported that despite his expensive Florida vacation that the club still possesses a balance of $4,328.56 and has a paid membership of 86. Jon mentioned that he’d attended the Barrett Jackson auction at Palm Beach and had watched a lot of old rich guys throw money at some really cool cars. He also mentioned that he still had four tickets left for the Keenland event.


SECRETARY’S REPORT: As we’ve become accustomed, Jay was there, and as usual made no report, but did apologize to Gary Benke about not having included his list of upcoming events in the March Newsletter. Bad Jay. Bad, Bad, Bad!!!

ACTIVITIES:  Bill Hegestebeck provided some additional details for the Vineyard’s Rally to include the fact that the entry fee is $50 per couple ($25 for singles) and includes a bottle of wine. Gary Benke outlined several events to include:

4/21 Milford Cruise In departing Gary’s home at 5:30 PM (gather 5:15).

4/22  Birthday Bash run to Bowling Green departs Richwood Rest area at 7:15 AM (gather7:00).

4/28 Milford cruise In departing Gary’s home at 5:30  PM (gather 5:15).

4/29 Dayton Corvette Forum Cruise In Departs 8:45 AM Gary’s home Arrive (gather 8:30).

 

NEW BUSINESS: Jim Spaeth mentioned that the Mid Ohio race Course Lemans event will be contested the weekend the May 21.

 

DENTED HUBCAP AWARD: After much discussion about the relative merits of Don Turner -who fell victim to a thrown truck tire tread and Gary Benke who disconnected his power brake booster vacuum line, it was decided that Gary most deserved the award most since he alone caused the problem that befell his Corvette, while Don was only a hapless victim.

 

SPLIT-THE-POT:  The modest sum of $30 was taken home by a smiling John Betsch who was hear muttering something about winning the pot when the club ran out of tickets!
