After prodding from his loyal secretary, President Doug Schwegman called the February meeting to order at 7:40 (or there about) and opened the meeting by thanking Tom Keen for his gracious hosting of the meeting and the wonderful pizza plus Valentine’s cupcakes he provided to see that we were well nourished.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Doug was unusually brief (apparently in his desire to munch one more of the great cupcakes) and encouraged us to support Tom Keen who has always been such a great supporter of our club. (As an example, Tom donated a $25 gift certificate as a door prize won by John Trull – who donated it back to the club! Woowee. We all win!

TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported that

That the club’s current bank balance is $3,800 and that we now have 86 paid members. Jon also updated the name tag board to reflect, new cars, aliases and other changes as appropriate!

SECRETARY'S REPORT:  Jay was there, but as usual was mum. She did, however, enjoy the cupcakes!

ACTIVITIES: Kurt outlined a new activity called “The Hit and Run Event”. It’s based on the notion that we’ll cruise to various locations on various Thursday and Friday evenings. The locations will be the “usual” cruise in locations such as; Johnny Rocket’s, Graeter’s, Jim &Jack’s etc. Before each event, you’ll receive a short email blast with the announcement. Sounds like fun!

NEW BUSINESS: There will be a car show-organizing meeting at the Roadhouse at 7:30 PM on Tuesday February 21. Anyone interested in participating, please attend!

DENTED HUBCAP AWARD: As was foreseen in last month’s Newsletter (following the very well deserved penalty of a certain tall Z06 owner at the Go Cart races), Dr. Jim Speath was awarded the prestigious Dented Hubcap Award. Proving that you can run from this illustrious award, but you can’t hide.

SPLIT-THE-POT: It was won (again) by lucky Suzie (or is there something going on here) Turner. Her share was $44 which she donated back to the club. Thanks Suzie!
