GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES:

The September meeting was held at the RoadHouse on Tuesday, September 13.

The Next Meeting will be on October 11th at the RoadHouse.

President Doug Schwegman called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.  Those who attended the meeting were: Doug Schwegman, Kurt Meier, Jay Deerwester, Greg & Melinda Lloyd, Stan & Rita Bond, Jim & Pat Bischoff, Miriam & Jim Spaeth, Gene Cochran, Nick Lucarelli, Doug Hillman, Jessie Schwegman, Dorothy South, Chuck O’Bryant, Wayne Alexander, Don & Susie Turner, Gary Benke, Gary Roberts, John Betsch, Jim Hackmann, Bill Hengstebeck, Marshall Hutcheson, Charles Griffin, John Trull, Bob And Judy Wiltse, Bob Finken, Eddie Ficken, Steve Waldenmeyer, Jim Mason and Jack Hoeberlein.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug welcomed Bob and Judy Wiltse as our 101 St. members and as a result of the milestone, they will receive a discount on their dues to $29.99 from the regular $30 fee. They are the proud owners of Silver C6 (might be a ragtop or not…we forgot to ask). After that pleasant duty, Doug reported that even with the weather working against us this year we still had over 90 cars in attendance at the show and were able to donated $4,133 to the Wood Hudson Research Laboratory.

TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: With Jon absence, we don’t know if we’re afoot or on horseback. We’ll have to wait till Jon returns from Chesapeake Bay to see! (But we think we’ve got a buck or two left)

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Since Jay didn’t do the newsletter last month, she actually gave a report that went like this…” blah, blah, blah, blah, was seconded by somebody blah, blah, blah. After that informed report, we opined that with the great turnout maybe she ought to stop doing it!

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Kurt started that our meeting last month actually coincided with our tenth anniversary and took note that over the course of the ten years, the one very welcome change was the active involvement by women in the club (you go girl!) Kurt then proceeded with an update report on the car show and asked Doug Hillman & Jim Spaeth to provide a few details. They thanked the chairs consisting of: Classification; Gary Benke and Jim Bischoff, Judging; Doug Hillman, Poker run: Jon Hanas, Food: Suzzie Turner and Pat Bischoff, Photography; Greg Lloyd, Split the Pot: Pat Bischoff, Door Prizes and Grab Bags: Gene Cochran and Jack Buecker and Parking: Rick Deerwester and Richard Rolfess and in it’s entirety the crack Registration team of Steve, Malinda, Jessie, Jay, Miriam and Steve.

ACTIVITIES: Doug Hillman and Jim Spaeth reported on the car show debrief and covered a lot of ideas that will be incorporated into the 2006 show. Then they mentioned several upcoming events to include Keenland (with dinner in Lexington) on Sunday  October 16 (see enclosed flyer) and The Christmas party at the Highland Country Club at 6:30 PM December 14. Finally, we had a great outing (thanks to Stan and Rita Bond) at the Campbell County Boys Lodge with twenty-six Corvette’s (and an equal number of wide eyed boys) who enjoyed a great road trip and even better food at Ft Thomas.

NEW BUSINESS: The Nominating committee was selected,  consisting of Steve Waldenmeyer, Stan Bond and Jim Mason. They will present the slate of nominees at the October meeting who will be voted on at the November meeting. Anyone interested in serving, should contract one of these fellows asap! Lastly, Jon Hanas is sending out the dues invoice to everyone in October, so pay up!

DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: Steve Seibert who is obviously a soulmate of Richard Rolfes did the “hey, watch this top trick” with his shinny new C6. He managed to launch it cleanly off the car with nary a scratch on the Vette. The see through top didn’t fare so well, however. But to prove that he lives right, his insurance company covered it (sans deductible) since it was considered glass and as we all know, in good old KY, its covered!

SPLIT-THE-POT: Doug Hillman took home the honors at $61.
