COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: While Doug reported that there were no guests or prospective new members attending the July meeting, our overall membership has once again exceeded 100! He also reported that we had a record 47 Corvettes turnout for the 4th of July parade. The club members offered a sincere thank you to Doug & Jessie for their warm hospitality and the delicious breakfast that they served us on their lawn before the parade.

TREASURER’S REPORT, MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon reported- a balance of $5,044.6l.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Jay reported same old, same old, that Is that everything there was to know about the prior month’s meeting was in the Newsletter!

VICE PRESIDENT'S  REPORT : Kurt started his report but was interrupted by a phone call that was taken by his Aide de Camp of the moment Rick Deerwester who then passed it on to Chief of staff Jessie, who ably handled Kurt’s real estate dealings. Unaffected by all that, Kurt then proceeded with an update report on the car show (along with the able assistance of Doug Hillman & Jim Spaeth).

ACTIVITIES: Doug Hillman and Jim Spaeth reported that the car show is well underway to being a huge success.  At the present time all committee captain positions have been filled and the committee heads were well along in recruiting their helpers.  If you have not signed up for a job please contact Doug or Jim and they will put you in touch with a committee head in need of workers.  We hope that all club members will be at the car show on August 27th (at Tom Gill Chrevrolet).  To be a real success, we truly need all members to participate and to work the car show.  We should plan on being at Tom Gills’ by 9 a.m. on the 27th.  The final car show meeting will be held on August l6th at Tom Gill’s at 7 p.m.  Jack Buecker is in charge of door prizes.  We hope that all members can donate a door prize or two or perhaps solicit door prizes from businesses and institutions with which they have contacts.  If you have any questions (or prizes) please bring them to the next general meeting or contact Jack Buecker.

NEW BUSINESS: Mark Works has a very seriously modified 2003 ZO6 for sale. If you need to pull some serious G’s see him.  Jim Strine has two or four tickets for the Brickyard for sale, Date Aug. 7th - $80.00 per ticket.  Jon Hanas also has his Beautiful Nassau Blue Coupe for sale.

DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: Two nominees for the award – Jim Strine who set off the alarm system at Tom Gill coming near to making a debut on COPS, and Kurt Meier for the lack of ability to start his beautiful 1954 corvette at the 4th of July parade!  After considerable cogitation and chin rubbing appropriate to such a difficult decision the much sought after award was given to Kurt – Mostly because he still had it  at home from last month and forgot to bring it to the meeting.

SPLIT-THE-POT: Gary (yellow) Benke - $48.00. Perhaps he can now afford to get some yellow shoes of his own and stop admiring Jay Deerwester’s.
