GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, 2005: The sixth meeting of the year was held on Tuesday, June 14th at the Roadhouse. The next meeting will be July 12th at the Roadhouse in Cold Springs as well.

The meeting was called to order by the president, Doug Schwegman, at 7:30 PM (or a little later).  Doug welcomed our new member. They were; Bob Frodge who owns a vintage 1975 Sting Ray (the inattentive club secretary failed to note its color), Jack and Jo Ann Hoerlein who own a 1995 torch “arrest me” red convertible and Bob and Judy Wiltse who own a Silver C6 (who moved here from California and no doubt bought the C6 with the spare change from the sale of their California home)!

Those attending the meeting: Doug and Jesse Schwegman, Kurt Meier, Jay Deerwester, Susie and Don Turner, Wayne Alexander, Gene Cochran, Nick Lucarelli, Stan and Rita Bond, Jim and  Miriam Spaeth, Greg and Melinda Lloyd, Ed and Pat Pelley, Gary Benke, Bill Hengstebeck, Gary Roberts, Jim Hackmann, Bob Fincken, Jim and Mary Jean Strine, Joann and Jack Hoerlein, Loretta Riley, Jim and Pat Bishoff, Charles Griffin, Chuck O’Bryant, Gary Dirr, Bob Wilke, Gary Callioni, Pat Payne, Ray Embry, Jim Emhoff, Rhett Baird and  Bob Frodge.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug turned the meeting over to Kurt who gave us a brief overview of coming events. Chief among them, he emphasized that everyone should mark their calendar for August 27. That is the date of the Car show which will be held at Tom Gill Chevrolet and where we will also celebrate our tenth anniversary.

TREASURERS REPORT: Jon Hanas was at the US Open spending the entire treasury so we did not receive an update on our vast communal wealth.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: DUH! Aren’t you listening? Jay Deerwester reported (once again) that her report was in the minutes and predicts that the same will be true next month.

VICE PRESIDENT'S / ACTIVITIES REPORT: As mentioned above Kurt reviewed the calendar of upcoming events, which include: The Fourth of July Parade (that roughly 50 members will attend), The 7/5-7/17 run to the Biltmore Estate Asheville North Carolina, the Car Show at Tom Gill’s, a Founder’s day outing (date uncertain) and the Boy’s Club Run on September 14 – for which we will need lots of Corvettes! Also please bring all your old car magazines since the boys really like reading them.

NEW BUSINESS Jim Spaeth gave a report on the comings and goings of the car show. Please check with Jim or Doug Hillman about volunteering to work since we will need lots of worker bees! The next car show meeting is scheduled at the Roadhouse on 7/7 at seven and you’re invited!

DENTED HUBCAP AWARD:

Kurt walked off with the “honors” this month but something caught the attention of your ever-vigilant secretary and she missed most of the whys of that well deserved and prestigious honorary. It was however, unrelated to a car foible!

SPLIT-THE-POT:  Won by Ed Pelley at $58!
