GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING , 2005: The third meeting of the year was held on Tuesday, March 8th  at Zakirak’s Garage. The next meeting will see our triumphant return to the Road House in Cold Springs on April 12th. .

Remember, we are encouraging those spouses who don’t regularly attend meetings to come to this gathering. We promise to limit the car talk and actually try to be on our good behavior.

The meeting was called to order by the president, Doug Schwegman, at 7:30 PM.  Doug welcomed Jim and Mary Jean Strine as our newest members. They own a 2004 white C5 Convertible with an oak top and interior. Several members were dismayed that Jim and Mary Jean balked at the well-understood ritual whereby we all get to drive the new member’s car! In all seriousness, we look forward to the Strine’s association in the club.

Those attending the meeting: Doug Schwegman, Kurt Meier, Jay  and Rick Deerwester, Jon Hanas, Susie and Don Turner, Gary Clemens, Casey Clemments, Wayne Alexander, Gene Cochran, Nick Lucarelli, Stan Bond, Jim Spaeth,  Chuck O’Bryant, Jerry Sizemore, Jim Gramer, Larry Kidney, Greg Lloyd, Ed Pelley, John Famous, Jeff Elliott,  Gary Benke,  Jim Mason, Bill Hengstebeck, Steve Waldenmeyer, Gary Roberts, Jim and Pat Bishoff, Ed Meier, Marshall Hutchinson, Gary Benke,  Jack Buecker, Jim Hackman, Jesse Schwegman, Mark Works.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug spoke briefly on the upcoming tenth anniversary extravaganza and hastened the regular rigmarole so that we could all spend more time gawking at all the wonderful automotive eye candy on display at our hosts facility.

TREASURERS REPORT:    John Hanas reported that unlike Worldcom we are cash flow positive with an income statement boasting revenues of $71.00 with expenses of just $49. Our balance sheet stands at a very healthy $4,900.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Jay Deerwester reported (once again) that her report was in the minutes and predicts that the same will be true next month.

VICE PRESIDENT'S / ACTIVITIES REPORT:  Kurt reviewed the calendar of upcoming events, which included the upcoming Keenland trip being organized by Jon Hanas for the 17th of April.  Kurt also repeated his invitation to anyone interested in joining he and a group of Corvette enthusiasts for a great bottle of red wine (at La Mans, France) June 18 & 19.

NEW  BUSINESS: Rick Deerwester announced (regrettably) that the planned autocross school had to be put on hold because the nearness of Memorial Day to scheduled date of the event resulted in many of those interested not being able to attend. He indicated that he would attempt to reschedule the event later in the summer.

Bob Fincken explained that he was able to get Dave Davidson, the wheel guru of Tire Discounters to attend our next meeting. He’ll have various demo wheels and tires and will be prepared to discuss all year Corvette wheel related issues.

DENTED HUB CAP AWARD:   Since Doug still couldn’t find the dented hub cap, he was unanimously selected to be it’s March recipient.

SPLIT-THE-POT:  Somehow won by Marshall Hutchinson won the princely sum of $32.00!
