GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING , 2005:The first meeting of the year was held on Tuesday, January llth. at Tom Gill Chevrolet

Next Meeting February 8th, Tuesday, at Keen Parts, Rt. 128, Harrison, Ohio.


The meeting was called to order by the president, Doug Schwegman, at 7:30 PM.  Doug welcomed Chuck O’Brian who has finally decided to join the club after several visits (he’ll learn).  We look forward to getting to know Chuck and his 98 Nassau Blue Coupe.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:


PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug extended congratulations to Gene Cochran for his third place trophy in the Cavalcade of Custom car show.  


TREASURERS REPORT: There was no Treasurer’s report because Steve Waldenmeyer wasn’t able to attend the meeting until later in the evening at which time he turned over the Treasurers’ duties to Jon Hanas.  Everyone in the club would like to extend our sincere thanks to Steve for his hard work and great support over the past year.


SECRETARY’S REPORT: Jon Hanas gave his final report as Secretary and turned those duties over to Jay Deerwester.  We thank Jon for having done double duty over the past year as Secretary and Webmaster.  Jon will serve as Treasurer, as well as continuing to operate

 as the club’s Webmaster. 


VICE PRESIDENT'S / ACTIVITIES REPORT:  Kurt reviewed the calendar of upcoming events, which include the February meeting at Keen Parts, the March meeting at Zakira’s Garage in Cincinnati.  Kurt invited anyone interested in joining he and a group of Corvette enthusiasts for a great bottle of red wine (at La Mans, France) June 18 & 19 to get in touch with him. 


Jim Spaeth reported on several upcoming events.  The C5 Birthday Bash will be held April 2l, 22, 23rd in Bowling Green, Ky.  So far we have ten couples going.  If anyone is interested please contact Jim Spaeth or Doug Hillman.  We are also planning a trip to the Biltmore Hotel in Asheville, N.C. the 3rd weekend of July.  April l6th is the date selected for a trip to Keenland.

NEW  BUSINESS: Rick Deerwester circulated a sigh up sheet for those interested in participating in an autocross school.  An E-mail was also sent out to everyone in the club for those who were not at the January meeting.  So far we have between 30-35 tentatively committed.  Rick will have more details on cost and other information (volunteers that will be needed) at the February meeting. 


DENTED HUB CAP AWARD:   No award was made at the meeting (because Doug couldn’t find the hub cap). Therefore is by unanimous consent awarded to Doug in absentia.


SPLIT-THE-POT: Didn’t Happen!
