COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: A combined meeting was held with Queen City N.C.R.S. at Tom Gill Chevrolet. The dealership provided a dinner buffet, special sale prices on parts & labor and demonstrations in the body shop. Tom addressed the meeting and thanked everybody from both clubs for attending. He stressed his continuing commitment to the Corvette nameplate and introduced the members of the Corvette sales and service team. Both clubs wish to thank Tom, Rich and all the employees at Tom Gill Chevrolet for all the effort they put into hosting the meeting and we look forward to having more meetings at the dealership in the future. The featured speaker of the night, Paul Schnoes, gave an interesting account of his career at General Motors. He started by recapping the various jobs he had within the corporation and finished with stories about his tenure as the chief engineer at the Bowling Green Assembly plant. The most interesting was how he salvaged and restored the only remaining 1983 Corvette. That car is now on display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

As he later explained they thought he had the wrong license plate on his 64 Convertible. They were not aware of the little known law that if you have historic registration you can use an antique plate. Once they checked with headquarters he and Pat were on their way to Tom Gill Chevrolet only slightly worse for wear.
