GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING October 14 , 2003:

President Doug Schwegman called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug warmly welcomed Dr. Julia Carter from The Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, the benefactor of the Fort Thomas Corvette Club Car Show proceeds gift.  He also introduced Dorothy South, Chair of the Car Show, who presented Dr. Carter with a gift of  $2,000.00 from the Club.  Dr. Carter expressed the gratitude of the Wood Hudson Laboratory and took a few minutes to explain the research projects of the Laboratory.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT: Steve announced that annual dues of $30.00 are, in fact, due now.

Avoid the late charge and get those dues mailed to the F.T.C.C.  The Club’s address is P.O. Box 75383, Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075. He also reviewed the income & expenses from the September 21 Car Show.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon announced that the website is currently being updated, so check in for current flyers and news. He was happy to announce that we now have 100 members. Invoices have been mailed to all members as of October 1, 2003. Jon thanked Jim Sheath and Larry Schwalbach for the interesting Corvette links they forwarded to him and promised to post any additional links to the website.

 

 

 

 

VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT:

 

Lawrenceburg Go Cart Event-October 18, 2003. Steve Waldenmeyer is graciously hosting the Go Cart Track Event at 11:00 AM.   This event is the first of its kind and is promising to be a great event.

 

 Restoration Run-October 19, 2003. Jeff Bernhardt has scheduled a Corvette Run leaving his facility.   His restoration shop is located in Springboro.  Give Jeff a call for more details.

 

Toys for Tots - October 26, 2003.   Keen Corvette Parts sponsor this event, one of our Club Sponsors.   Be at the Peace Bell, 4th and York Streets, Newport, Kentucky somewhere between 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. with a toy for a needy child.  The Toys for Tots run will occur between the Peace Bell and Grand Victoria Casino.  The Grand Victoria will generously serve a luncheon for all participants.

 

Kentucky Speedway-November 8, 2003.  Jim Freiermuth is sponsoring drive the track event at the Kentucky Speedway.  For more information check out the NKYVETTE.com

 

Christmas Party- December 10, 2003.  President Doug was announced that the Christmas Party would be held at the Highland County Club, Fort Thomas, Kentucky, on December 10, 2003, with cocktails at 6:00 p.m.  More information on the web page and November meeting, but mark those calendars.

 

NEW  BUSINESS:

Elections:

Doug, the Club’s esteemed President, thanked Jim Mason for volunteering to serve as Annual Elections Chair.   Jim accepted and announced that the current Directors indicated their desire to run for the same offices they presently hold.   President Doug also announced that elections would be held at the November 2003, meeting.

Clothing:

Dorothy South announced that she had 4 hats for sale and plenty of golf shirts for sale at $25.00 each. She also displayed a sample sweater for $30 and a jacket for $45 that she is taking orders to get to the minimum quantity requirements.

 

DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: The award was not presented this month.

SPLIT-THE-POT: Roger Webb won the $39 pot.
