President Doug Schwegman called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Doug welcomed new member John Tool who is joining the Club and other guests.
Cruise-in is every Wednesday, at the Roadhouse, to get everybody ready for the car show on September 21 . If you can get free, come on out and have a good time.
Doug introduced tonight’s guest.
Mike Stroth - from Campbell County Boys Lodge thanked everyone for giving the boys a fabulous time. The boys really had a really good time. Please feel free to come back and check out the Lodge and see what they have to offer the young boys that need help. Should you want to visit their website, it is Campbell Lodge.org. He also asked for donations of used computers for the Lodge.
Roscoe Bailey and Bob Koeman, work on Corvettes from Tom Gill Chevrolet and are here at the meeting. If you have any questions, these are the people to talk to. Chuck Mars was also there. He modifies Corvettes and has an after market parts business.
Rich Ackman and Tom Gill donated the Corvette Club a year's supply of brushless car washes for the members. If you have not been to their place of business, you need to go check it out. If you have any questions now or in the future, please feel free to call. TREASURER’S REPORT: Steve Waldenmeyer reported- Steve made an informational chart regarding the Club's monies. Spending on news letter and website is 12% of monies taken in. The Club nets about 46% of overall income.
SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS
: Jon Hanas reported- We have 86 members. The website is up and running. The Club has pictures from the Tom Gill's Friday night Corvette outing and will post the pictures. Jon wanted to make sure everyone was getting on the website okay. Please do Jon a favor and print your name on the monthly sign-up sheet. He can not read chicken scratch. If he can not read your name, you are not going to get the newsletter.
VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT: Kurt Meier Reported- Not to be outdone by Steve, Kurt presented the Club with his own version of a pie chart.
Regarding the Campbell Lodge outing. Stan's put this event together every year and the Club has a great time participating in this event. The Club had a hard time drying out after the event.
Stan reported on the Campbell Lodge Outing. He thanked everyone for participating and thinks that next year that there be some rain dates for this event. Thanks for the t-shirts, posters, etc.
Thanks to Rita for coming to help.
Kurt also referenced the Open House at Tom Gill's Chevrolet. It had a 1953 want-to-be and 2003 and one of each generation Corvette on the deck. Tom Gill Chevrolet was fabulous and had a great buffet. Andy Pilgrim was there with the C5-R and was kind enough to autograph various items.

Two events- Both on Saturday, August 23, 2003- The first is a road trip sponsored by Dr. Jim Spaeth up to McDorman Chevrolet. The trip is around 200 miles. McDorman is one of the largest Corvette dealers in the country and will show his collection of Corvettes & neon signs.. After view the collections it is off to German Village, for dinner, in Columbus, OH. The next event is a picnic, at his house, sponsored by Dr. Gary Callioni.
Kurt announced that the next event was Dorothy South's Car Show. As a prelude, there is Cruise-in every Wednesday night as a build up to the major car show.
Kurt turned the floor over to Dorothy South.
Dorothy announced that she had posters that she needed help to place in stores, etc.
Registration fee is $10.00 each. Proceeds will go to Wood Hudson. Some of the categories will be Best to Show, Best Paint Job, and something new this year is the Wood Hudson Award. Dr. Julia Carter will be the one that picks that one out. It may or may not be a Corvette. Some of the classifications for trophies will be for the best Ford, best GM model, other than a Corvette, best Chrysler, best import, best muscle car 1951- 73, best race car and street rod. We need sponsors and Dorothy has a flyer for costs of sponsorships. Costs of the trophies range from $40.00 - $125.00. Dorothy indicated that they need a lot of volunteers for this event. Please let her know. This event will be posted on the website and in the newspaper.
Club shirts for $25 and hats for $10 were being ordered and Dorothy was working on jackets and wool sweaters to show.
Kurt acknowledged that Dorothy works hard on this event and wanted to have everyone mark September 20, 2003 on their calendar and support the car show.
Jon announced that Eagle One had committed to be at the Show and Rich Ackman from Tom Gill Chevrolet has committed to bring out cars for display, probably the super charged car and indicated that there may be a chance to display the new pickup, the SSR.
Kurt announced that the beneficiary of this car show is Wood Hudson Cancer Institute here in Newport, Kentucky. They do fabulous work. The organization really relies on contributions from their community.
DENTED HUB CAP AWARD
: Doug Hilman received the award this month because he lent his daughter his C4 and it was hit by a van while parked in front of where she worked.
SPLIT-THE-POT:
Jon Hanas won the $43 pot.
