GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING ,July 8, 2003:

President Doug Schwegman called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug Schwegman thanked everybody for coming and asked for committee reports.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Steve Waldenmeyer reported that our balance was $4192.92 and we had a whopping $5.16 in YTD interest.
SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon Hanas reported that the pictures that he took at the Concourse, the 50thAnniversary at the Speedway, in Nashville and Bowling Green and the 4th of July parade were posted to the web site. The June newsletter went out on Sunday and should have arrived by today. Jon thanked all the people who helped with the Speedway event. First those that helped with the goodie bags at mod day.

Jon estimated that there were 375 Corvettes on the track and that they went completely around the track.

I just want to take a moment to thank you and all the Corvette club members
everywhere who made this caravan such a special event for those of us
traveling. This was something my husband and I will never forget.
We took lots of pics but are hoping to find the one taken of us at the Ky
Speedway. I have been searching the NCM web site without success. Do you
know the link address? Could you forward it to me please?

Jon thanked Kurt for setting up the event with the Speedway and getting the Caravan to the track 15 minutes early Thursday morning. All were pleased that there were no major mishaps. The only accident was a scratched front bumper caused by an owner’s over exuberance in the winners circle.
VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT: Kurt Meier Reported-that he and Doug went to the vintage car races at Mid-Ohio on Sunday June 22.
Kurt recapped the events in Nashville and Bowling Green for the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Gary Benke reviewed the 4th of July parade. There were 45 Corvettes from our club and the Eastgate Club.
The commemorative brick for Bob Dameron in now in place at the Museum.
Stan Bond talked about the Campbell Boys Lodge cruise and dinner on July 9 and asked that more Corvettes show up as he now had more boys than cars. Stan announced that we would pick up the boys at 6 PM and then go to the Fort for a cook out. After dinner we will drive down Route 8 to entertain them and then return them to the lodge. Stan advised that NO pictures would be allowed and the cost per car would be $5. Nick Lucarelli announced that he was able to get 25 free T-shirts from Mid America to give to the boys.
Kurt asked Jim Gramer to check on the old car cruise-in they were planning.
Tom Gill’s grand opening events were discussed and Jon turned the planning over to Doug Schwegman.
The 3rd annual car show will be on Saturday September 20. Dorothy asked for members to volunteer to help with the planing and door prizes. Kurt asked that $1000 be authorized for the show expenses. The motion was passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: Jim Spaeth talked about a cruise he was planing for August 16 to Bob McDormam Chevrolet and German Village in Columbus. (See attached flyer.)
Gary Callioni talked about a cookout at his house. (See attached flyer.)
Steve Waldenmeyer proposed an event at an indoor Go-cart track in Lawenceburg and it was decided that we would do it this fall.
DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: Dorothy South was given the award this month because she forgot to put the top back in her C4 after the parade and it rained very heavily that night.
SPLIT-THE-POT: Jeff Sluder won the $44.50 pot.
