SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon Hanas reported- that the membership is now up to 80 members with the addition on the new members announced by Doug. Jon asked if there was any interest in promoting the NCM at the I-75 south bound Welcome Center this weekend. Two upcoming events with Tom Gill were discussed. June 14 is Flag Day and the start of their Grand Opening week. They are doing a huge "Flag Day" promotion on that Saturday and would like us to supply as many Red, White & Blue Corvettes as we can to go along with the flag theme. The next event will be on Wednesday June 18. This will be a Cruise In at Tom Gill’s new location for all Corvette owners in the Northern Kentucky area and they would like to have one car from each generation on display. I have already asked Kurt to supply his 54 and Nick if he would bring his ZR1. I have to talk to Jerry about his 25th Anniversary 78 for the C3 generation. For the C5 I recommend that the four 50th Anniversary owners take an hour each on the display. Jon asked for volunteers for all the above events.
VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT: Kurt Meier Reported that there might be an event coming up at the end of May involving Johnny Rockets and Greater’s Ice Cream. More information to come.

Another event this year is the Concours d’Elegance , sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation. Gary Benke reported that Corvette will be the featured car this year because of the 50th Anniversary. This event is on Sunday, June 8, at Ault Park from 10 AM to 4 PM. Awards will be presented at 2:30 PM and the admission is $20.00 per person, which is tax deductible. If you are interested in going, meet at 40 N. Grand at 9:30 Sunday morning and we will leave around 9:45 so that we can get priority parking. Kurt asked for members that had specific years to volunteer to show their car at the event. You can get more details at http://www.cincyconcours.com/.
Doug Schwegman reported that Mid-Ohio is having an event on June 20-22, the weekend before the Caravan, and Corvette is the feature car. This is a fun event for anyone who would like to run up there for the day.
This summer there will be two separate 50th Anniversary events. The 50th Anniversary Corvette Caravan sponsored by Chevrolet, In Nashville, TN on June 26 & 27, and the Birthday Celebration at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY on June 28,29 & 30. There is registration information, for both events, on the web site, www.nkyvette.com. You need to register individually for each event.
Tom Keen gave an update on the Caravan. Darrell Bono informed Tom that they are expecting between 300 to 500 cars to come through Cincinnati on Wednesday, June 25, from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. Keen Parts & Performance Plus Corvettes are sponsoring a luncheon stop on June 25. The Caravan will then continue on I-275 to the Grand Victoria Casino for an overnight stop. Darrell Bono, from the Hamilton Club, told Tom that Grand Victoria is going to have 175 rooms reserved and the overflow are going to be accommodated at other hotels in the Lawrenceburg area. The numbers are growing daily. Tom Keen is encouraging Grand Victoria to turn this into an event, like a cruise-in or car show, so the public can bring street rods and other types of cars to the event. The next morning, Thursday June 26, the Caravan will cross the Ohio River and arrive at the Kentucky Speedway mid morning. Chevrolet has the track rented for the day and for a $10.00 donation, any member of the Caravan can take his/her car for one lap of the track. We are working with Tom Gill Chevrolet to have a combined presence at the track since we are the local host club. Details on that later. The Caravan will leave the Speedway and continue to Nashville that afternoon. At this point, all local participants should join the Caravan. We need 8 to 10 volunteers to work this event from 10 AM to 2 PM. (See attached flyer for details).
