This was an away meeting at Restoration Station, 250 Hiawatha Trail, Springboro, OH 45066
Most of those attending met at 40 N. Grand at 6 PM and thanks to Larry Alford were able to ride to Springboro on the church bus he supplied. There was not enough room for everybody to ride the bus so some members drove and those who live north of the river met us there.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug Schwegman reported-that he was feeling better each day and thanked the members for their concern and well wishes. Doug thanked Jeff Bernhardt for keeping the shop open late so that we could have a meeting at his facility. Jeff was kind enough to supply pizza, and the club supplied the soft drinks. Jeff did an excellent job of answering questions about his business and his Corvette judging. Most of the questions concerned the extent of the restorations currently in the shop. Many were impressed with the modified C1 that was in the paint booth.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Steve Waldemweyer reported-that we still had plenty of money and we had received $600 from advertising revenue.
SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon Hanas reported-that we have 74 members and that we are sending the newsletter to all members via US Mail. We are calling all members prior to every event to promote better attendance. Jon also reminded all members to complete and return the members information form that was included in the last newsletter. This information will help keep our database up to date.
VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT: Kurt Meier reviewed this summers big events:
This summer there will be two separate 50th Anniversary events. The 50th Anniversary Corvette Caravan sponsored by Chevrolet, in Nashville, TN on June 26 & 27 and the Birthday Celebration at The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY on June 28,29 & 30. There is registration information, for both events, on the web site, www.nkyvette.com. You need to register individually for each event.
Tom Keen gave an update on the Caravan. Darrell Bono informed Tom that they are expecting between 300 to 500 cars to come through Cincinnati on Wednesday, June 25, from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. Keen Parts & Performance Plus Corvettes are sponsoring a luncheon stop on June 25. The Caravan will then continue on I-275 to the Grand Victoria Casino for an overnight stop. Darrell Bono, from the Hamilton Club, told Tom that Grand Victoria is going to have 175 rooms reserved and the overflow are going to be accommodated at other hotels in the Lawrenceburg area. The numbers are growing daily. Tom Keen is encouraging Grand Victoria to turn this into an event, like a cruise-in or car show, so the public can bring street rods and other types of cars to the event. The next morning, Thursday June 26, the Caravan will cross the Ohio River and arrive at the Kentucky Speedway mid morning. Chevrolet has the track rented for the day and for a $10.00 donation, any member of the Caravan can take his car for one lap of the track. We are working withTom Gill Chevrolet to have a combined presence at the track since we are the local host club. Details on that later. The Caravan will leave the Speedway and continue to Nashville that afternoon. At this point, all local participants should join the Caravan.
Doug Schwegman reported that Mid-Ohio is having an event on June 20-22, the weekend before the Caravan, and Corvette is the feature car. This is a fun event for anyone who would like to run up there for the day. Another event this year is the Concours d’Elegance sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation . Corvette will be the featured car this year because of the 50th Anniversary and we are investigating ways to get the club and Tom Gill Chevrolet involved. This event is on Sunday, June 8. More details, as they become available.
NEW BUSINESS: There was a meeting at Kentucky Speedway between the Club, the Speedway and Tom Gill Chevrolet to plan the events of June 26. The Caravan, guided by Kurt, will leave Grand Victoria Casino 9 AM and arrive at the Speedway at 10 AM. For a $10 fee every Caravan member will be able to drive his or her Corvette on the track. There will be food at the Outback Steakhouse concession stands, tours of the Speedway, $5 per person, pictures taken in the winners circle, and door prizes supplied by the Speedway and Tom Gill. We will need about six members to volunteer to help at the Speedway from 10 AM to 2 PM.
DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: The "Dented Hub Cap" was not awarded this month so Doug Schwegman will hold on to it for another month.
SPLIT-THE-POT: Bill Culbertson received $27.00 as the winner share.
