Jeff was contacted by a member of the Florence Labor Day Parade Committee looking for cars to participate in the parade. More information on this will follow.

SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon Hanas reported: There were no significant changes to the web site since the last meeting. Members asked to have a "For Sale" section added to the web site and Jon said that he would be happy to set something up. It was brought up that trophy sponsors would get one year of free advertising on the web site and Jon said that he would get with Dorothy after the car show and gather the information to implement that as well.

VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT: Kurt Meier reported-There were some scheduling problems with the August event and it had to be cancelled due to conflicts with the sponsors family events. Kurt is going to sponsor an event in September with the assistance of Doug Schwegman. Bill Hengestebeck is working on the October Indiana Cruise and flyers should be available shortly. Corvettes at Carlisle http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/Corvette/corvette.htm will take place from Aug 23 to Aug. 25 for those that are interested. Kurt thanked Larry Kidney, Jim Gramer and Jerry Sizemore for the great job organizing the Metamora run on July 28 and Stan Bond for his second chairmanship of the Campbell Boys Lodge dinner and cruise on July 17. He then related his exciting adventure of being the 1954 Corvette in the Historic Motoram that consisted of one Corvette for each year. They started in Flint Michigan then caravaned to the site of the St. Louis Corvette plant and then to Bowling Green for the unveiling of the 50th Anniversary edition. He thanked the club members that greeted them at Bowling Green including Stan Bond, Gary Benke, Jon Hanas and Bob Saathoff. He encouraged the membership to participate in all the current and upcoming events associated with the 50th Anniversary Celebration.

NEW BUSINESS: Dorothy South-Sept. 21 Car Show: Dorothy reported that she has had two meetings at her house concerning the plans for the show and that preparations are falling into place. She passed out a list of the trophies to be awarded and the cost to sponsor each. She asked the membership to pursue local business for trophy sponsors to help the club defray the cost. She felt that if any members wished to sponsor a trophy, except for the Corvette classes, that would be fine. She also asked for volunteers to help set up on the day of the show. And if any body knew of some impartial people who could be judges.

DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: Doug Schwegman was given the award this month for his encounter with a deer during the Campbell Boy’s Lodge Cruise. Had Brandon been present he would have won hands down. After the "Mod Day" team successively installed Nitrous in his C5 some outside influence caused the bottle heater wires to short out and start a FIRE that caused extensive damage. Sorry Brandon !!!!!!!!!

SPLIT-THE-POT: Nick Lucarelli winning share of the pot was $31.00.
