COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Away Meeting at Dave Noran’s House: Dave was very gracious to invite the Club to visit his house,
which contains over twenty antique autos. The members met at 40 N. Grand
so that we could follow Kurt to Dave’s house. After a short caravan we arrived at the designated parking area. Some cars were able to park in the driveway and the others had to walk around a beautiful lake complete with a lighthouse
to get to the gathering area at the front door. Dave and his son Kenton addressed the members and thanked us for coming. (Kenton Noran, son of Dave Noran, is coached in Lacrosse by Richard G. Garsia, who owns Spiff Services of Cincinnati, an auto detailing operation. His cell is 513.265.1909 and his home is 859.442.0908.) They advised us as to which parts of the house were off limits and that no pictures were to be taken. As this is a private collection I will not list the exact models and years of the vehicles but I think it is fare to say that we were all VERY impressed, especially the Indy Roadster in the bedroom and how it got there. Dave gladly answered all our questions about each car, the collection and how it has evolved and how the house was constructed. Dave noted that he has had a car at the Concours d’Elegance at Ault Park for many years and was in the process of preparing this years entry. After everybody had seen all the cars and asked all there questions we met on the front patio for a short meeting (see below).
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Doug thanked Dave & his family for allowing us to view his fantastic collection and promised to send him a Ft. Thomas Corvette Club golf shirt as a thank you gift.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Sluder reported on the progress of the preparations for our second annual car show on September 21 at the Roadhouse.
SECRETARY’S REPORT & WEBSITE NEWS: Jon noted that if anybody wanted a hard copy the newsletter he would put there name on the mailing list even if the have an e-mail address.
VICE PRESIDENT’S /ACTIVITIES REPORT: - Kurt reviewed the past and upcoming events. (See attached June and July calendars).
NEW BUSINESS: Kurt noted that he and Doug called all the members prior to this meeting and felt that contributed to the large turnout. He suggested that we form a phone committee and asked for volunteers. He also asked for members to volunteer to organize more cruises.
DENTED HUB CAP AWARD: was awarded to Jerry Sizemore for his superior burger flipping at the Founders Day cookout.
SPLIT-THE-POT: There was no split the pot at this meeting
