President Jim Bischoff

Vice President Todd Feldhaus

Secretary Jerri Wildeboer

Treasurer Pat Bischoff

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 12, 2000

President Jim Bischoff called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Those in attendance were: Jerri Wildeboer, Todd Feldhaus, Stan Bond, Rita Bond, Rick Bradford, Toni Bradford, Ed Hoffman, Andy Miller, Evelyn Wilson, Bob Hood, Dot Hood, Mike Studer, Mary Jo Studer, Richard Rolfes, Cliff Barber, Dorothy South, Jim Gramer, Charles Griffith, John Vories, Gary Benke, Judy Benke, Kurt Meier, Bill Soubrette, Jeff Webster, Fred Haas, Jeff Slider, Bob Daemon, Loretta Riley, Joe Russ, Jon Hanas, Kathy Hanas, Jerry Sizemore, Larry Kidney, Bill Hengstebeck, Diane Aseere, and Dan Aseere.

President Jim Bischoff asked for reports from the following Committee Chairmen:

MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN: Stan Bond reported we have one new member. His name is William Shawl. He lives in Florence Ky and owns a 1992 white corvette. He is employed at Goodyear. At the present time he cannot attend the meetings but is interested in participating in the functions.
Welcome to the Club!

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Jerri Wildeboer wanted to let everyone know that she had a great time being secretary for two years and really enjoyed it. She had a good teacher in Dorothy South and she wished the next person well and she is willing to help the new secretary get started with the job.

A NOTE FROM THE TREASURER..... This is a reminder that the dues are $30 per member, and they are due now. They will be past due on October 15. If unpaid on November 1, your name will automatically be dropped from the membership roster. Please make payment to FORT THOMAS CORVETTE CLUB, INC., and mail to our post office box, Attention: Dorothy South. Or, if you prefer, bring to the General Membership Meeting on October 10. Your cooperation is appreciated. If you have any question, please call me at 859-781-0126.

CLOTHING CHAIRMAN REPORT: Pat Bischoff said she would introduce the new person for the Clothing committee to the representative at the Orsman Clothing company regarding items we might order in the future.

SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT: Jim Bischoff spoke for Larry Kidney and Jerry Sizemore and reported that everything is safe.

PHONE COMMITTEE REPORT: Jim Bischoff made a suggestion that there are people who have been on some committees a long time and it would be nice to give some of them a break unless they want to continue on their committee. Jim also suggested we address some other issues, one is having to call people the day before a meeting to remind them. Jim suggested everyone mark their own calendar. He thinks we need a phone committee, but the real use would be to cancel a meeting or some other reason. Jim suggested the new leadership consider this and maybe some new volunteers can be assigned. Bob Dameron agreed with Jim that calls are made but the same people always show up. It was suggested that email may be another option for sending messages to members.

WEB SITE COMMITTEE REPORT: Jon Hanas reported he found two places on the internet that will help us with the web site. His suggestion is that we create one page on the web site to get started. He thinks he can do the logo and just tell people to contact the Corvette Club in Northern Kentucky if they are interested. We will get five free email addresses, and he will monitor that email account in case someone wants to contact us. He plans to put events on there eventually, but now he just want to get a Web site started. In the future he hopes to do events, pictures of everybody's cars, pictures of all the members and of things that we have done. He will monitor the email account . Jerri Wildeboar said she would email the club logo to him. Jim Bischoff asked him to contact Jack Hoffman of the Web site committee and let him know what he is working on. Jon said he would work forward on this and have something up and running by the next meeting.

Old Business

Cruise-ins: We need to look into whether we want to continue having the cruise ins on Wednesday and how many time a month we want to participate.

Christmas Party Meeting: Pat Bischoff said the party is scheduled for December 15 at El Coyotes The club will pay for the hors d'ouevres. Different activities are being planned for the event. Christmas ornaments may be exchanged.

Campbell Lodge Boys Home Run: Todd Feldhaus said there are 14 boys who will be going on the run. He has a tentative date of Tuesday, September 19. We will meet at the Lodge at 5:30, take them for a drive and come back to eat somewhere. Kurt Meier said the tradition has been to take them to eat at Frisch's and then take them for a ride. The boys really look forward to the ride each year and everyone has a good time.

Family Picnic Cruise: Jeff Webster said there were 12 corvettes that went on the cruise. Everyone had a great time. Webb and his wife did a great job. They have a real nice place that has a big screened in porch. There was plenty of food and a great time was had by all. Webb is going to have back surgery in the future. We wish him well and will keep him in our prays.

Carlisle Corvette Show: It was a very well managed show. There was 84 acres filled with corvettes and a large variety of vendors. It was very roomy and access was easy to get around. They had nice paved walkways and a tram to drive you to different areas. The only complaint we heard was they did not have enough nice clothing vendors. The hotel we stayed in was right in downtown Carlisle. It was a nice quaint little town and on Saturday night they shut the street down and had a parade of Corvettes which lined up on the street. They limited the parade to 400 cars. They also had a band and street dance. Jim Bischoff said the show was awesome. He had never been to a show that well done. There were a lot of corvettes for sale there and they all looked like top quality cars. A number of us took side trips to Gettysburg and Hershey, Pennsylvania which was only 30 minutes away.

Memorial Brick: Jim Bischoff reported we did purchase a brick at the National Corvette Museum in honor of Rick Cayse. It is being placed by our brick. We are now a lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum. The cost is $250.00 for the first year and $150.00 each year thereafter. One benefit is free passes to the museum. When we receive them, they will be raffled off at the meeting.

Club Photo: Jim still is shooting for October to get this done.

Club Dance: The dance right now is at the Elks Hall on Saturday, February 17. The charge is $450.00 for the hall. They will do the set up and clean up. Draft beer, soft drinks, chips, and pretzels are included in the price. You have to bring your own booze. Only members of the Elks Club can buy drinks from the bar. The price for a DJ is $300.00. Pat talked to a caterer she has used and the price would be $3.85 per person. The price per person to attend would be about $15.00 to $20.00 per person. It was suggested that we do the dance for some type of charity. The idea is to get the Ft. Thomas Corvette Club name out as doing something for charity. Dorothy South suggested we wait until after the election to make a decision.

New business

Upcoming Events

September - Lingenfelter Trip: Kurt said we are leaving from 40 Grand Avenue in Ft. Thomas on Friday, September 22 at 7:00 am. We will ride up to Oxford, Ohio then to Richmond, Indiana and stop along the way for breakfast. We will arrive in Decatur, Indiana about 10:30 Indiana time. Kurt said Doug has arranged for a dynamometer to be available at Lingenfelter for those driving new cars. After we leave Lingenfelter we are going over to the Formula One boat shop for a tour. We will stay over night in the Ft. Wayne area. Saturday morning we will head for Auburn, Indiana to tour the Duesenburg Museum. After the tour we will have lunch and head for home. Doug has planned a nice ride home going through towns in Indiana and Ohio. We should arrive home about 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

September 24: Wood Hudson Cancer Research Fundraiser - Pat Bischoff said the doctor from Wood Hudson called and said her husband had died in April of this year and she is calling a bit late this year. It will held on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1 - 6 p.m. We will meet at 40 Grand Avenue in Ft. Thomas at 12:00 and leave at 12:30 to get the cars lined up. The Corvette Club does not have to pay to attend and the food is free for our members. There is a silent auction and an art show. This is a worthwhile cause and those that attended last year seemed to have a good time.

October 22 - Metamora Run to Indiana: Bill Hengstebeck has set the date for Sunday, Oct. 22. We will meet at 12:00 and leave 12:30 sharp for the drive. The cost of the meal will be approximately $13.50 a person. We will go up through Indiana and make a couple stops along the way. He is planning for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in Metamora for shopping. Since there is no rain date for this event, Bill suggested we drive another car if the weather does not cooperate. (Flyer enclosed)

November - nothing planned. If anyone has any ideas let us know.

December - Christmas party will be held on December 15.

Charitable contributions - Jim Bischoff reported a donation of $250.00 will be given to the McCormick Technical-Vocation School and a $250.00 donation will be sent to the Wood Hudson Cancer Foundation.

Recommendations - Jim Bischoff suggested that the new leadership form a committee to look over the by-laws and get them in order. He also recommended that the club purchase the recorder used by the secretary to record the minutes. A check was made for $75.00 for this purchase.
